Guide
Is an online degree in India valid? What to check
Not every online degree is valid for every purpose. Check these points first.
Is the university allowed to offer it online?
An online degree is useful only if the university is allowed to offer that specific programme in online or distance mode.
Check the UGC-DEB lists
For Indian online degrees, check the University Grants Commission Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB) lists for the institution and programme.
Ask what employers and further-study routes accept
Confirm how employers, recruiters and universities you may apply to later treat the qualification.
A low fee is not enough
If recognition is unclear, a low fee is not a reason to enrol. See Online degrees and distance learning.
Programme availability, fees, rankings, eligibility and admission policies can change. Verify final details with the institution.
